High Attendance Day - Thursday, September 12th
|
High Attendance Day is on Thursday, September 12, when students in Webster County Schools join schools across Kentucky in a friendly competition to achieve the highest attendance rates.
This day is an excellent reminder that regular attendance is essential. Students who arrive on time and attend school each day are more likely to succeed in the classroom and grow, both socially and emotionally. In addition, attending school is a life skill that will help students sustain employment.
Webster County students are encouraged to show up and recognize the importance of attendance in school and continuing into their future careers! Look for ParentSquare school posts for more information about High Attendance Day.

WCHS Students Enrolled in Dataseam Registered Apprentice Program
|
Webster County High School students, Carson Hill and Delaney Shumate, began their Dataseam Registered Apprentice program in July 2024. This program helps students explore career options by giving them hands-on work experience and opportunities to understand professional options in Information Technology and businesses using technology.
Students are in a professional environment where they learn real-life work skills and earn certification from a Department of Labor Registered Apprentice Program. Student Apprentices gain a wide range of experience with hardware, software, and technology found in a large, enterprise environment, like a school system, by working as a member of the school district's professional IT team.
On September 6, Carson and Delaney were presented with a new MacBook Pro by Brian Gupton, Dataseam CEO. They will use this device to complete their certifications and will be awarded the device upon successfully completing the program.

KIP Survey for 6th, 8th, 10th, & 12th Graders Planned for October
|
Webster County Schools is participating in this important project to recognize and meet the health and well-being needs of our students.
From our participation in the KIP Survey in 2021, we learned about student opinions concerning vaping and drug use and have offered student assemblies, health class lessons, and guest speakers to address some of the misconceptions. In addition, our Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) and mental health teams have used the report to guide the focus of their interventions and student support.
The survey is completely anonymous and confidential. Student names are not included, and information gathered from the survey cannot be traced back to individual students.
The KIP Survey informs school leaders about student issues, highlights concerns, and initiates action. Early identification and response to student needs increase the chance of a positive, lasting impact.
We encourage you to support this project by completing the permission form sent home, either by paper copy or via ParentSquare, and agreeing to let your child participate in the survey.
